Lobsterfest continues Saturday, Aug. 19
The Canton Volunteer Fire Company's 41st annual Lobsterfest celebration got underway the evening of Friday, Aug. 18 and large crowds of people enjoyed traditional lobster dinners, hot dogs and hamburgers, live music by local favorite Driving Iris and much more.
The event continues from noon to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19 with music from Conrad Doty with Silk n Steel from noon to 4 p.m. and Acoustic Marsh Pit Band from 6 to 10 p.m.
There will also be a Touch a Truck event from noon to 4 p.m. The $35 lobster dinner includes one full lobster, corn, New England Clam Chowder, and a Beverage. Those who don't care for seafood can purchase hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken fingers, water and adult beverages in the field.
The event takes place at 14 Canton Springs Road, Canton, CT 06019.
The Canton Volunteer Fire Company is a non-profit corporation separate from Town of Canton Fire and EMS.
According to its Facebook page, "Since 2010, the Canton Volunteer Fire Company, Inc has donated in total over $100,000 to local charities and organizations including but not limited to:
